Blockchain company Socios.com announced it has partnered with LaLiga, a national sports association responsible for administering the two professional football leagues in Spain. The two will work together to create new opportunities for the league’s 800 million fans to engage actively with the brand.
“Thanks to this agreement, all our fans around the world will be able to connect more actively with their favorite players and teams. For us it’s a way of getting closer to them and offering them new experiences”, said Oscar Mayo, the Executive Director of LaLiga.
Founded in 2019, Socios.com has been enhancing the fan experience with over 40 global sports organizations across 20 different countries through its Fan Tokens. The collectible digital assets provide their owners with access to voting rights in polls, VIP rewards, exclusive promotions, AR-enabled features, chat forums, games, and competitions.
According to Socios.com, Fan Tokens have become one of the fastest-growing revenue streams for the sports industry, generating $200 million in profits for Socios.com’s global network in a little over two years since the first token was released. The partnership with LaLiga will strengthen the company’s position in Spain and help it tap into the massive fan bases of LaLiga’s FC Barcelona, Atlético de Madrid, Valencia CF, and Levante UD.
