SBI Digital Asset Holdings announced that it would be integrating Securitize’s digital securities issuance and management platform with its investor wallet.
According to a press release published on 18 December, the integration will enable users of the SBI Wallet to sell, issue, and manage tokenized securities directly within the app.
Securitize is a digital security platform regulated in the U.S. by the Securities and Exchange Commission and FINRA as a transfer agent and broker-dealer. The SBI Wallet was created by SBI Digital, the digital asset management arm of SBI Group, a financial services company based in Japan. The SBI wallet offers digital custody services to institutional investors.
Partnering with Securitize will make the wallet a secure one-stop-shop security token platform for customers in Japan, the company said.
Previously, SBI Digital announced plans to establish a digital asset exchange in Singapore. To launch the new venture, the company partnered with Switzerland’s SIX Digital Exchange, part of the SIX Group that operates the primary Swiss stock exchange.
The company said that the partnership is aimed to meet the rising demands of institutional investors for digital assets. The upcoming exchange will offer digital asset custody alongside other services and is set to go live in 2022.
