Grand Bohemian Hotel Asheville. Kessler Collection
In order to enable cryptocurrency payments, the Kessler Collection has partnered with BitPay, a leading provider of Bitcoin and cryptocurrency payment services. The company is the first luxury hotel group in the U.S. to accept cryptocurrencies, Kessler said in a press release. It will also join the likes of AT&T, Microsoft, and Dish Networks as BitPay’s partner.
All of the hotel’s locations will send an email invoice enabling guests to pay from their crypto wallets through BitPay. Aside from BTC, ETH, BCH, and DOGE, the hotel group will also support payments in USDC, BUSD, GUSD, and PAX.
Kessler’s chief financial officer Fravy Collazo said the move will help streamline the payment process for guests, saving them from going to local currency exchanges. BitPay’s chief commercial officer Sonny Singh echoed the statement, explaining that Bitcoin payments are cheaper than credit cards and make international payments much easier.
The group’s partnership with BitPay was initiated by Richard Kessler, the chairman and CEO of the Kessler Collection. He believes that cryptocurrencies are only going to gain more acceptance with time, noting the partnership with BitPay enables the hotel group to offer more choices in the payment process.
“This is one of the most innovative concepts in the hospitality industry right now,” he said in the company’s press release.
