Blockchain firm Enjin has partnered with digital health engagement company Health Hero to develop a new NFT-based wellness app, Enjin announced in a press release shared with The Chain Bulletin on 9 June.
Named “Go! By Health Hero”, the new health monitoring and engagement app will enable users to create their own Well-being Non-Fungible Tokens (W-NFTs), which will be unique to each users’ health and activity characteristics. The app will collect activity and wellness data through integrations with health tracking apps and devices such as Apple Health, Google Fit, and Fitbit. The CEO of Enjin, Maxim Blagov, explained:
“Health Hero’s app highlights how NFTs can be adopted in entirely new and innovative ways by businesses across industries. We are excited to support the first project bringing NFTs to health and fitness, pairing the security of blockchain with new gamification mechanics.”
What makes the app’s Well-being Non-Fungible Tokens even more unique is that they can acquire new traits and features as users continue to add more activity statistics and well-being parameters over time. Enjin further suggested that the new W-NFTs will potentially be tradable for Enjin Coins on the Enjin Marketplace.
The partnership will build on an existing W-NFT pilot spearheaded by Health Hero for its Global Challenges app, which offers a “dashboard experience to gamify fitness and health”. The Go! app will make use of Enjin’s gas-free JumpNet blockchain, a private version of Ethereum with a Proof-of-Authority (PoA) consensus mechanism. The scalability of the blockchain was key in forming the partnership, as Health Hero’s products are used internally by over 38,000 companies worldwide through integrations with Salesforce, Microsoft Teams, and Slack.
