On October 27, Ava Labs announced the completion of an extensive security audit and penetration testing for their non-custodial wallet Avalanche. The project was funded through the Avalanche-X grants program to assist the company in establishing its public stature and ensure its protection against ill-intended third parties.

According to the announcement, Halborn’s testing suite unveiled a variety of possible optimizations to the wallet, while affirming strengths in security and design decisions made by Avalanche’s engineering team. The operator claimed to have applied all suggested recommendations for improving the security of the product, ultimately receiving a seal of approval from Halborn.

Halborn is said to be one of the industry leaders in security testing of blockchain technology, winning some of the largest hackathons in information security, including NetWars, EOS SF, and WYO. The company specializes in conducting thorough smart contract audits and ensuring cybersecurity.

Halborn’s services include advanced penetration testing and smart contract audits, which assist operators by finding critical vulnerabilities in their DeFi applications before they are exploited and correcting design issues and code errors.

“We’ve followed Ava Labs since its announcement at Token Summit 2018 and are excited for the opportunity to put our skills into hardening a crucial piece of the Avalanche ecosystem, its wallet app,” said Rob Behnke, CEO of Halborn.

Avalanche stated that they have gone through 3 weeks of testing, with Halborn’s team constantly attempting to crack the wallet. After successfully completing the audit and receiving the stamp of approval, Avalanche is now one of the few blockchain companies that offer the highest level of security to its customers, alongside names like Coinbase, Stellar, and Bancor.

The platform further emphasized the importance of continually improving the security and performance of their ecosystem. In the announcement, they called on developers to contribute to their GitHub and join their specialized community on Discord in order to improve the blockchain and allow more community builders to realize their potential through the Avalanche-X grants program.
