On October 2, Ava Labs announced the launch of a new feature, the AvalancheTipBot, developed by ablock through the Avalanche-X accelerator program. With it, each client can now seamlessly send tips in AVAX to fellow users and contribute to the growth of the platform.
The bot currently works with Avalanche’s Twitter, Telegram, and Discord communities. According to the announcement, anyone interested in the idea could make use of the bot and freely send rewards to other members active on the social platforms. The only requirement is to set up the software and deposit a set amount of AVAX.
“We’ve been blown away with [sic] the engagement, enthusiasm, and contributions from the Avalanche community of users and developers. Simply put, it’s not enough to just have great tech. For Avalanche to seize their [sic] potential, they [sic] need the support of communities that are equally strong, decentralized, and equipped to surpass the status quo,” the company stated.
On Telegram and Discord, people can receive their funds directly through the platform. On Twitter though, for the end-user to be able to receive the rewards, he must first complete the required setup. Otherwise, the AvalancheTipBot will wait until the recipient has finished with it and only then transfer the assets. The bot automatically creates a wallet address, so users do not have to go through the trouble of creating one themselves.
In the announcement, Ava Labs suggested some of the potential reasons why tipping through the AvalancheTipBot might be useful to the community and the individual. According to them, Avalanche clients might be intrigued by the opportunity to support their most engaged community members, to express gratitude towards other customers who have helped them grow in their professional life, or simply to give back to the community for volunteering their time, effort, and resources for the collective benefit.
