Opera For Android Paves The Way For Further Cryptocurrency Adoption

Users of the Android version of the Opera web browser can now easily purchase Ethereum.

A partnership by Opera and European crypto exchange Safello has resulted in a potential introduction of cryptocurrencies to millions of active users – as the web browser has surpassed the 100,000,000 installs milestone already. As for Opera’s partner – Safello is regulated as a financial institution and registered with the Financial Supervisory Authority of Sweden.

This is not the first time that Opera browser has made cryptocurrency news. A $50 Million investment by Bitmain in the company that develops the browser.

This was quickly followed up by an introduction of a built-in crypto wallet in its desktop version. Now Opera’s crypto-adoption efforts are moving into mobile.

For the time being, only Norwegian, Swedish and Danish customers will be able to take advantage of the service, while also taking advantage of 5% Safello fee discounts for Norwegian and Danish customers, and a 2.5% discount for Swedish customers.
