Cryptocurrency exchange Crypto.com has launched a new advertising campaign aimed at boosting the company’s worldwide recognition, the exchange said in a press release published on 28 October.

Called “Fortune Favors the Brave”, the ad stars Hollywood actor Matt Damon, is directed by Oscar-winning filmmaker Wally Pfister, and produced by David Fincher. The exchange plans to have the ad appear on billboards and in television in more than 20 countries around the world, significantly boosting its audience of potential crypto users and investors. The co-founder and CEO of Crypto.com, Kris Marszalek, said in a statement:

“The timing of this campaign coincides with the early stages of mainstream adoption of cryptocurrency, something we’ve been hard at work to advance since our founding five years ago. We’re very excited to introduce our company to a global audience inviting them to our secure platform with a message focused on financial independence and self-determination.”

While Crypto.com did not discuss the ad’s budget, Bloomberg reported the company was ready to spend more than $100 million on the campaign. The ad will also be integrated across Crypto.com’s portfolio of sports partnerships, which include football club Paris Saint-Germain, Formula 1, UFC, NBA’s Philadelphia 76ers, esport team Fnatic, Astom Martin Cognizant F1 Team, and Italy’s Lega Serie A football league.

Less than a week ago, Crypto.com decided to donate $1 million to Water.org, a clean water initiative co-founded by Matt Damon and Gary White back in 2009, and will also pursue initiatives to encourage its customers to support the cause. Damon noted that Crypto.com shares his commitment to “empowering people around the globe with the tools needed to take control of their futures”.
